I HAVE LOTS OF FRIENDS

I have lots of friends and family in Inverness Scotland and in Darby in England but I keep in touch with by letter on telephone.  We all have an our lives to lead in this world and in Clydebank.

I have no family here through choice. I like my independence and freedom and single status. I can choose what I want to do when I want to do it. I have a very large social circle of people to meet and to keep me active in the community, with lunch clubs, libraries writing groups, therapeutic groups, volunteer work as well as peer support.

My friends and neighbours assist me in my life difficulties and to cope with every day things. I have a handful of very close friends, they help me to cope with everything in my life.

To be a successful with my route and to cope with my medical conditions can be very challenging and hard to deal with. Sometimes in this world we live in today we all need good neighbours for a happy and content to live life. I do volunteer work and support for my neighbors also. My neighbour Sheena, aged 86, (since COVID-19 has changed everyone’s life for good) was being tied to her house and lost confidence to go out. I would do some shopping in the morning to make life easier to cope with.

We are all getting older. I am 67 years old and need to have a purpose and meaning in my life as well as ambition and motivation. I found this through good support. I do Steppingstones Charity and also Cornerstones Charity. Tea, good company, banter and stimulation from the group, new skills to live as well as friendships for life.

I have had 36 years of one to one therapy. I have learned new skills and also group therapy has helped me make a success of my life. My friends also have problems. We all need to deal with problems by taking therapy. Talking therapy has helped me to live a better life.
