TEARS AND LAUGHTER 2
My mother cried yer Granda’s deid
Fell doon the stairs and banged his heid.
We were shocked and cried a river
Thought Granddad would last forever.
He had lived a hundred years
Got his kicks from wine and beers.
That turned up carpet in the hall
Was the cause of Granda’s fall.
The funeral was a great success
We laughed and cried and made a mess.
Wee Shuggie wanted tae start a fight
It was Granddad’s day, it wisn’ae right.
Ma mammie shouted, don’t you dare
And promptly grabbed him by the hair.
Granddad would have loved his wake
My mum had baked a great big cake.
We even sang his favourite song
Laughed out loud at times now gone.
We had a hooley, it was a ball.
All because of Granddad’s fall.
