BALLAD OF LOST LOVE
(Sung to the tune of The House of the Rising Sun)

He laid his head upon her breast
A shiver touched his soul
He knew for sure that she was dead
His heart as black as coal.

They were wed for just one year
She was his blushing bride
They laughed and danced and drank their fill
He’d love her till he died .

He found them in between the sheets
Arms around each other
He stabbed them both then realised
He’d killed his wife and brother.

He kissed her lips so pale so cold
His fingers held her hand
He raised it up to touch his face
Eyes on her golden band.
