Fullness of time

(on the passing of my mum)

I watch over the decades to the woman becoming so frail
I enter the years and years and years’ one after the other
Changes ever present on you’re etched out face
Painted in happiness; sorrow; worry lines your once beautiful face
The maps of time shaded like damp patches on the wall

A life of challenges, of family and labour and furrows dug
Preparing and nurturing and loving and caring
Hands and feet mark the journeys taken
Sixty one years of toil to bring fullness to your family
A legacy of love continues to further generations.
